I’m a data analyst, technical sales expert, and developer who loves learning new things and driving business impact.
What I bring to the table
-
I have a track record of using data to help customers realize the value of products, and consequently, help the business win more deals.
In my most recent role at Rapid7, I evaluated Rapid7’s customer’s security needs, advised on best practices, and then built custom reports and visualizations in dashboards for customers using SQL queries, with the goal of making their security teams successful and winning their business.
-
I’ve worked in customer-facing roles, particularly in sales- for over a decade, and have brought my data-driven acumen to my practice in sales.
At Rapid7, my day to day involved analyzing win-loss data, building custom dashboards to drive new sales and business strategies, and shaped strategies to use new Salesforce metrics to inform business decisions.
An example of my work: I spearheaded an initiative to analyze deal cycle length, which showed an inverse relationship between Proof of Concept length and win rate. Based on my findings, my team implemented a revised POC process to shorten deal cycles by 2-3 weeks and increased our win rate by 35%.
-
My career impact is due in large part to my ability to communicate with others of widely varying levels of technical expertise.
Whether creating net-new enablement content for sales representatives, leading new hire training on technical products, or demonstrating complex cybersecurity products to C-levels (and winning deals), I’m comfortable and adept at storytelling and presenting information.
-
I’ve been fortunate to wear a lot of different data-based hats in my roles, from creating pipelines and uploading data to actioning on insights.
In a past role at the now-closed Ziften Inc., for instance, I built and maintained an ETL pipeline for customer servers to upload data into the company’s data warehouse. I then helped build the infrastructure, conduct research via SQL and NoSQL queries, and recommended new product features based on customer data.
More recently, at Rapid7, I built ETL pipelines to transform JSON/CSV/XML into a variety of destinations like relational and non-relational databases, and cloud environments. I also built multiple one-off and custom integrations to push and pull data and consolidate in unified data warehouses.
-
I have a knack for ramping up in new areas quickly. I’ve successfully transitioned from a career in mechanical aerospace engineering into a career as a developer, and then into a career in sales engineering. I’ve been able to make those transitions seamlessly thanks to my ability and drive to learn new things.
-
I’m an expert in technical sales and sales engineering. I’ve spent the last decade of my career as a sales engineer, most recently at Rapid7, where I rose from a sales engineer for Named accounts to lead sales engineer for Enterprise accounts to the manager of the Commercial West team.
My success in those roles was due to my empathy for customer problems, my ability to see the bigger business picture, and creative problem solving.
